As of 1992, Pain de Sucre imagined the first multi-position swimsuit to release necklines… Inspired by the glamourous half-cup shape of American pin-ups, the Fashion House designed the emblematic “Mishi” model, a draped strapless bikini top with a deep V-neckline effect, whose foldingstraps at the back enable a diva tan.

As early as 1993, the pleated fabric is highlighted in the Fashion House’s first collections. Diverting scarves and pareos, the designers came up with the unseen idea of combining Lycra® and voile. A flowing, airy and feminine fabric that allows every boldness, giving rise to iconic models: from the adjustable bandeau swimsuit to the legendary “Alala” bottoms with their luscious small ruffles. In 1996, the Fashion House brought back into fashion a forgotten unique underwire, formerly used in corsetry, to give birth to its first cult bikini top, the “Camelia”. Creating a very deep V-neckline, its wave-shaped underwire and wide fabric strips wrap and shape every breast. A timeless cut that has been revisited over the years and remains everlastingly trendy…

As of 1996, Pain de Sucre dared to divert for swimwear traditional push-up foams that were at that time exclusively used for lingerie. The meet the clients’ requirements for a new bikini set with enhanced curves and perfect support, many prototypes of bikini tops were created until the genesis of the super star “Diva” and its wonderful under-breast band and its alter ego “Donia” with gathers and removable cups for generous necklines.

In 2002, the arrival of a new Lycra® microfibre fabric inspired the Fashion House the design of the very first reversible bikini set called “Tautira”: very thin, light, breathable, drying in a flash… Trendsetter, Pain de Sucre follows its instinct and dare mixing colours with this amovible second skin: two-tone, plain, print, satin, lacquered, golden… Make way for boldness and creativity!

In 2000, Pain de Sucre and its partner experienced in developing an innovating laminating Lycra®: the future” Bonded material. The first swimsuits with seamless finishes were born: laser-cut pattern, thin flat straps and criss-crossed laces, the sky is the limit. In 2016, the new racer back swimsuit “Soya”, a must-have piece designed for women looking for freedom, takes the first prize.
